Chocolate Tart Recipe

Combine Dry Ingredients:  In a food processor, mix 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Add Butter:  Add 1/2 cup cold, cubed unsalted butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Wet Ingredients:  Incorporate 1 large egg yolk and 1-2 tablespoons cold water until dough forms.

Shape and Chill:  Shape dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Prepare Chocolate Mixture:  Heat 1 1/2 cups heavy cream until simmering. Pour over 10 ounces chopped semi-sweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth.

Combine with Eggs:  In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Slowly pour chocolate mixture into egg mixture, whisking constantly until smooth.

Preheat and Bake Crust:  Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out chilled dough and press into a 9-inch tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove weights and parchment paper and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Let cool.

1. Fill Tart Shell: Pour chocolate filling into the baked tart shell. 2. Bake and Serve: Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and bake tart for 20-25 minutes, until set around edges but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool completely before serving.
